The Foundation of the Wicklow Cheviot Sheep Owners Association

In 1968, a group of Breed Society Members and along with some local agricultural advisors set up the Wicklow Cheviot Sheep Owners to promote the interests and profitability of those that farmed the Wicklow Mountain breed and its crosses.

Since then this Association has been involved primarily in promoting the breed and its crosses, bulk buying and selling and lobbying governmental and non-governmental organizations in the areas of export market access, dog control, deer control, access to hills for leisure and all forms of giving practical help to hill sheep breeders and owners
